On a beautiful day in September, I went up to Maine to photography a beautiful wedding. Moriah and Gregory's wedding was actually my first Maine wedding and I hope to be able to photograph another one in Maine again soon. Upon arriving to Gregory's sister Ashley's house, I was instantly at ease. Moriah, Ashley and her friend (also a bridesmaid) Tessa made me feel welcome right away. These three just had such a bond, each helping each other get ready putting on jewelry and fixing hair.
From there we headed out to the ceremony site at the Wells Ogunquit Historical Society, a stunning venue for a wedding. It was a photographers dream for an indoor ceremony venue (white walls and ceiling, and tons of natural light). There was a really sweet moment when Moriah and her bridesmaids arrived and they all saw Zachary, Moriah's son, for the first time. Zachary, who by the way totally stole the show a few times that day, walked his mother Moriah down the aisle and ran into Gregory's arms at the end. The ceremony was filed with laughter and sweet moments, and ended with Moriah and Gregory beaming with happiness.
From there we went to their reception venue at Old Marsh Country Club and had the most gorgeous golden hour light. I kid you not, the best light for family portraits and couples portraits of Moriah and Gregory. Shortly after portraits we heard some lovely and heartfelt speeches by Gregory's sister Ashley, his friend Adam, and Moriah's friend Tessa. Stealing the spotlight though, was Zachary who was giving a little speech and then wanted to hold on to the mike and kept talking, which made everyone there crack up. He had everyone laughing so hard, and clearly he is a born entertainer. There were so many sweet moments during this wedding, I feel like I couldn't keep track from Gregory and his sister dancing with their grandparents, to Zachary and Moriah's dance, to Gregory and Moriah sharing so many love filled glances and kisses. The whole day was just so very beautiful. I have no doubt that Moriah, Gregory, and Zachary will be a happy family because they were already there even before it was official. Congratulations again Moriah and Gregory (and Zachary), I wish you a lifetime of happiness and fun!
