I am usually a bit faster about blogging, but May ended up being a lot busier than I thought it would. So my sincerest apologies about the delay. I am very excited today to feature Megan and Karl's Salem engagement session on the blog today. These two were amazing and got up super early to do a sunrise engagement session with me in their hometown of Salem. It was so early that the weather was about 20 degrees cooler than the rest of the day, but the light was so beautiful. This is why I try to get my couples to do either a session in the few hours around sunrise or sunset, the light is softened, golden and so so pretty. It basically created a beautiful halo effect on these two. We started off at Winter Island Park with a beautiful view of the lighthouse there. These two walked all over Winter Island with me, cuddling up and being adorable. After we captured some beautiful photos there, we went over to downtown Salem. Megan and Karl led me down some of the streets of Salem with beautiful old homes. I had them hop on to one home's doorstep, we used the siding of one home as a background, and then we also used a brick wall. This was one of the things I really loved about downtown Salem, there are so many different backgrounds that you can use for photos. I just loved how Megan and Karl were so natural with each other, cuddling up and laughing. When you are around these two you just feel how at ease they are with each other, and you start to feel it too.
