I met Lauren in 2016 at her sister Alli's wedding, and through a review contest I held in the fall, Lauren won a photo session with me. I was so excited that we were able to make this happen when I was down in NYC for the holidays.
We started out the morning on the steps of a post office that was across from Penn Station, it has these beautiful steps and was an awesome place to start our session. It was so very cold out that morning though, so we kept taking little breaks to run inside the post office to warm up every few minutes.
Lauren reached out to me a few weeks before telling me that she had a special surprise for her fiance Stan. Stan is colorblind, and for a gift Lauren bought him colorblind glasses. This was such a special moment to be able to document, it took about 15 minutes for the glasses to start working for Stan but he was commenting how he noticed the actual colors. When we were driving from the post office to Chelsea Market, he could finally notice the color difference between a green light and the walk signal, and in Chelsea Market he could finally see the difference between an orange sign and a red sign. This was such a special moment for them, and I am so happy that I could document this for them.
We also got to spend time walking around Chelsea Market before it opened, it was the first time I've been there without it being insanely crowded. I had such an amazing time working with these two, they had so much fun and you can tell they just laugh through life. I wish these two nothing but happiness :)
