Leanne and Ben's Boston College and Castle Manor Inn Wedding || Chestnut Hill and Gloucester, MA

The first time I met Leanne and Ben, I became instantly thrilled about being the one to capture their wedding day. I had been communicating with Leanne via email for a few weeks, and already through email I could tell what a warm, and caring person she was. Upon meeting Leanne and Ben at Fuel America coffee shop, I could tell these two were my ideal clients. They are some of the sweetest people you will ever meet, and hearing how they met and how long they have been together made me so happy. These two met in middle school, were friends for that whole time and then started dating their junior year of high school. Literally one of the rarest stories you will hear now is high school sweethearts who are each others' best friends, but that is who these two are.

Both Ben and Leanne spent some time at Boston College, Ben for undergraduate studies and Leanne for graduate studies. So of course, the fitting place for their ceremony would be the Church of Saint Ignatius of Loyola on Boston College's campus. The day started off with some showers but as if it was timed perfectly, the showers stopped right before their ceremony concluded. As a special gift to Leanne, Ben got a bag pipe player to play outside of the church as guests were arriving.

From there we all headed up to Gloucester, where I was able to get the bridal party over to Good Harbor Beach for photos. These guys were such good sports about photos, and I barely had to coach them on what to do. We got such fun moments captured on the beach and then Leanne, Ben, and I headed over to a private area that they considered one of their favorite places in the world. This place was so special to be for their wedding day, because they said they have spent a lot of time sitting on that bench watching the ocean.

Once back at their reception venue, Castle Manor Inn, the party got started. The speeches given by Leanne's sister Abigail, Ben's friend Kirby Bumpus, Ben's mom Leslie, and Leanne's father Tom were so heartfelt and personal. Leanne's sister Abigail started out the speeches by sharing excerpts from a diary she kept when Ben and Leanne first started dating and Ben's mom Leslie finished with a hilarious story of "Where's Ben," a game she used to play of worrying about where Ben was, that was until she met Leanne and didn't have to worry about Ben's whereabouts anymore. The whole reception was so filled with love, you can see how much every one of Ben and Leanne's friends and family care about them, and that is definitely a result of how caring and wonderful the two of them are. I just wish I could gush for another five blog posts about this wedding because these two and their family and friends were so amazing, and just made me so joyful with how over-the-moon happy they were to be there to celebrate Ben and Leanne. So thank you so so much Leanne and Ben for letting me capture your wedding day, you two are seriously the sweetest and most adorable clients. Best wishes for your future, I know you two will have a long and happy life together with lots of laughs and travel.

Holiday Local Maker Gift Guide

Over the past couple of years, I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with some amazing creatives in the Boston and New England area. I just realized how much talent there is locally, and have wanted to support the local creative community. About a month back, I started thinking about how I personally wanted to shop locally for most of my Christmas gifts, and I thought why not create a blog post that's a holiday gift guide of some of these local creatives' work. I reached out to a few creatives in the area, and I found these three ladies to feature on the local holiday gift guide. Their products are so beautiful, hand-made, and made with love. These three are some of the hardest working creatives in the area and I know that their work speaks for itself.

Without further ado, here is my 2016 local maker holiday gift guide:

Matt and Noel's Battery Wharf Wedding || Boston, MA

When I first met Matt and Noel after they contacted me about capturing their wedding, I thought they both looked so familiar. I knew my previous clients David and Sameer had referred them to me, but I went back through the photos of David and Sameer's wedding and realized I had taken quite a few photos of Matt and Noel at their wedding.

It seemed almost like fate that I would be taking photos of them at their own wedding, well fate and an awesome referral from David and Sameer.

These two compliment each other so well, it really feels like they were made for each other. Both during their engagement shoot and while they were getting ready for the ceremony, I was able to see the two of them in a more relaxed environment. When one of them would get nervous, the other would calm them down with a few words. When one of them would struggle to tie their shoes to look their best, the other helped re-tie the shoes. Matt and Noel just seem to have such a harmonious relationship, a perfect balance that brings out the best in each of them.

It was so special that David and Sameer were at Matt and Noel's wedding as well, I felt like my whole wedding world had come full circle and was deliriously happy. You know when parents watch their kids graduate or reach big milestones, I felt almost like that. So excited and happy for all of my clients and just brimming with pride and hope for their future.

It just makes me so happy that these two found each other, and it was such a fun day. As you can see below, I had a hard time narrowing down the dancing reception photos. It was such a fun reception, with all of their friends and family just really cutting loose and enjoying dancing and celebrating with Matt and Noel.

Thank you so much Matt and Noel for choosing me to capture this day, it was such an unbelievably fun and special day. It was definitely one of those days that makes me so happy that I am capturing weddings :)
