I arrived at the Biltmore Hotel in mid-June to meet Nansis and her ladies to a tiny bit of drama. One of the flower girls had just dislocated her arm. It wouldn’t be a wedding if something didn’t go wrong. I assured Nansis that things like this always happen and the whole crew of her family and friends were amazing with assuring her niece that she would be all right. Despite her arm being dislocated, after a quick trip to Urgent Care, the flower girl was in amazing spirits the rest of the day.
The ladies had so much fun helping Nansis get into her dress with her mom doing the final buttons. Since we started the day at the Biltmore, we had to stop on their grand staircase for a few photos. Seriously how gorgeous is this old school staircase?!
The church where Nansis and Alex got married was incredible, one of the largest churches I feel like I’ve been to in the New England area. They had a traditional catholic mass and their mothers got to have a special part in the ceremony.
Since we were in Providence, the perfect place for some family and bridal party portraits was obviously the Rhode Island state house building. If you haven’t been there it’s a gorgeous, white marble building that is a historic stunning feature of Providence. The ladies and men in the bridal party had so much fun with bridal party portraits, and we got some pretty funny images of the guys.
From there we headed to Alex’s parents house in East Greenwich, RI for the perfect backyard tent reception. After a hilarious introduction of the bridal party that included the flower girl taking a seat right before Nansis and Alex were introduced, they did their first dance together. These two definitely had style and ended their dance with Alex picking up Nansis. The maid of honor, Mirin, killed it with her speech. She started with a memorized speech in Spanish and then had to get out her note cards for the English portion of the speech that was equally awesome. After that Alex’s brother, Gabriel, gave an amazing speech with lots of anecdotes from growing up with Alex and Alex’s mom, Lee, finished off the speeches with a speech talking about Alex’s risk taking while growing up and praising Nansis for being the perfect fit for him.
After some amazing parent dances, their family and friends danced the night away with almost everyone out on the dance floor for every song. It was one of those days that flashed by so quickly because I was having so much fun. Congratulations again Nansis and Alex, you two are so sweet and I know you will have an amazing life together!!
